Welcome to the Register of Approved Mattress Recyclers
Otherwise known as RAMR, which is administered by the Mattress Recycling Association Ltd.
What is RAMR?
We’ve all seen and heard of the stories of tonnes of old mattresses abandoned on industrial sites by so-called recyclers who have set up, collected the old mattresses and then, perhaps having found it was more difficult to monetise their collected “goods” than they expected, have done a runner.
Well, RAMR sets out to distinguish the reputable players from the rogue ones. Companies in it for the long haul not just fly by night chancers.
In a nutshell, all the companies listed on RAMR have been carefully vetted and audited by an independent, accredited firm of auditors, against a stringent set of criteria, to make sure they are trading legally, complying with all relevant regulations and standards and recycling responsibly.
While of course you, the customer, will want to do your own diligence regarding any business you choose to work with – and we would strongly recommend that you do so – this list is a very good starting point. We’ve done a lot of the due diligence work for you already.

About Us
RAMR is the brainchild of a steering group comprising two leading UK trade associations, the Textile Recycling Association (TRA) and the National Bed Federation (NBF), a number of mattress recyclers, manufacturers, retailers, waste management firms and local authority representatives.
Together they have established a new company, the Mattress Recycling Association Ltd, which will administer RAMR. The MRA is governed by an elected Council of member representatives. It will in its early stages be administered jointly by the TRA and NBF.
Our Aim
RAMR has been set up to establish a UK-wide register of approved mattress recyclers, which meet or exceed expected, desirable standards of operation.
The aim of the which is to help local authorities, public bodies and businesses wishing to dispose of used mattresses to identify responsible, reputable operators
